Asbury University’s 14 academic departments offer 52 majors, along with an adult degree completion program called Adult Professional Studies. The University offers several master’s degrees in education, including alternative certification programs.
Some Adult Professional Studies and Graduate Education programs are offered online. The Elementary Education program is a degree-completion program in which students may combine Asbury’s courses with core education classes from other institutions to receive a bachelor of science degree. The Principal Licensure program offers graduate-level courses for educators that can lead to a licensure, master’s degree or Rank I.
The University provides many opportunities for student involvement both on and off campus. International internships, exchange programs, missions and community service opportunities are also available and are part of the curriculum in nearly every major.
Asbury University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone 404-679-4501). The Asbury University School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. The Asbury University Social Work Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Asbury University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
