Michelle Smith is an assistant professor of sport management in the Dayton School of Business and the Chair of the Management and Marketing Department.  Prof. Smith teaches in both the undergraduate and MBA programs in sport management with classes such as sport marketing, events/facilities and leadership. Prior to her 26 years of teaching, Michelle played collegiate golf and worked on the corporate side of the sport industry where she was on the corporate partner team for the men’s and women’s final four.

Prof. Smith is passionate about internships, continued learning, networking and students.  She acquired her undergraduate at Middle Tennessee State University in marketing and her master’s at the University of Kentucky in sport management. It was during her time at UK where she discovered her passion for teaching.

In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, live music, friends, and spending time with her adult son and her dog, Charlie.
