Academic Opportunities

Asbury University’s 14 academic departments offer 52 majors, along with an adult degree completion program called Adult Professional Studies. The University offers a master of social work degree and several master's degrees in education, including alternative certification programs.

Some Adult Professional Studies  and Graduate Education programs are offered online. Two of the programs, Criminal Justice and Elementary Education, are degree-completion programs in which students may combine Asbury’s courses with core education classes from other institutions to receive a bachelor of science degree. The other two programs, Principal Licensure and “Teacher as Leader” endorsement, offer graduate-level courses for educators that can lead to a licensure, master’s degree or Rank I.

The University provides many opportunities for student involvement both on and off campus. Internships, exchange programs, missions and community service opportunities are also available and are part of the curriculum in nearly every major.
