Family & Friends Welcome Weekend Info

Family members and guests who accompany new students to campus on Thursday, Aug. 18 are invited to participate in the events below, which will conclude before dinner. 

Watch the President’s Welcome livestream at on Thursday, August 18 at 4 p.m.

8 a.m. – Noon Residential Student Check-In and Move-In — Residence Halls
Residential students and their parents will pick up Welcome Weekend materials at the welcome tent outside each residence hall.  Student leaders and campus community will assist with move-in.
8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eagle Outlet & Campus Post Office Open — Hamann-Ray
Stop by the Eagle Outlet Student Store and Campus Post Office (CPO) at your convenience to get your CPO Box assignment and purchase some Asbury swag!
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. HICCUP and HICCUP Too Open — Kinlaw Library
Complimentary coffee is available at the HICCUP Too kiosk on the main floor, and specialty coffee, shakes, and smoothies are available for purchase at the HICCUP Cafe on the upper level.
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Semester Check-in: Student ID, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Health Services — Kinlaw Library, Lower Level
Take a break sometime during the day to complete this process.  REQUIRED for all students who did not attend a summer Eagle Day; but open to anyone with questions. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.  Students, bring a government-issued photo ID.
9 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Parking Stickers, Campus Employment, E-Campus Books — Kinlaw Library Board Room, Upper Level
Pick up your parking sticker, sign up to receive student employment paperwork and get information about ordering textbooks through
E-Campus
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Complimentary Lunch — Johnson Dining Hall
New students and their families are invited to lunch as guests of the University. Families are encouraged to stagger their arrival times.
1 – 2:15 p.m. Commuter Student Check-in — Kinlaw Library Lobby
Commuter students and their parents will pick up Welcome Weekend materials at the designated area, then proceed to the Semester Check-in on the lower level (see above) 
2:30 – 3:45 p.m. President & Faculty Meet & Greet — Kinlaw Library, Main & Upper Levels
Students and their guests are invited to meet the President and faculty members while enjoying refreshments
4 – 5:15 p.m. President’s Welcome (Livestream) — Hughes Auditorium
Students and their guests are invited to this welcome service with a keynote address by President Kevin J. Brown
5:15 p.m. Transfer Student-Parent Farewell & TAG Group Connection — Reasoner Green
Sophomore & Junior Transfer Students (TAG Group 21) and their families are dismissed to Reasoner Green to say farewell,  then students connect with their TAG leaders for dinner
5:15 p.m. Freshman Class Photo & Freshman Student-Parent Farewell — Hughes Auditorium Steps & Semi-Circle Green
Freshmen and Freshman Transfer Students (TAG Groups 1-20) will line up on the steps of Hughes for their class photo. Following the photo, students will say farewell to their families then connect with their TAG leaders for dinner and an activity.
