Join industry professionals for this five-day intensive utilizing Asbury’s cutting-edge Media Communication facilities. Film I provides an introduction to the art and skill of filmmaking.

  • Each student will work with professional film gear
  • Each student will learn the essentials of filmmaking, e.g. writing, directing, and editing
  • Each student will play a key role in the production of their short films
  • Each student will be able to screen their films for friends and family at the end of camp. This will occur in Asbury’s state of the art screening room
  • Other industry professionals will be visiting or teleconferencing into the film camp

Hit the open trails this summer! Join the team from Asbury’s renowned Equine Department for five days of hands-on learning. You’ll not only ride on Asbury’s riverside trails, but also learn the dynamics of horsemanship and equine service & ministry.

Join Asbury faculty for five days of hands-on learning and mystery-solving while you gain skills and experience in the field of forensic science. Play detective and explore the tasks involved in modern crime scene investigation by reconstructing an accident just like the professionals.

  • Visit the State Crime Lab in Frankfort, KY
  • Evaluate an accident scene using attention to detail and deductive reasoning
  • Collect and analyze prints of all kinds – fingerprints, shoe prints and tire prints.
  • Examine evidence collected using lab techniques, including physical characteristics of dirt samples and chemical aspects powder and blood samples
  • DNA analysis
  • Report findings in a mock court case before a jury of parents.

Come spend a week storytelling with us! Screenwriting camp will be a five-day deep dive into the world of writing scripts, including structure, idea generation, habits of the writer, and sparking creativity. Learn alongside an Asbury professor with professional experience in film, television, web, animation and more.

Calling all Narnia fans!  Spend five wonderful days learning about The Chronicles of Narnia and the life of their author, C. S. Lewis.  Join Asbury’s Lewis-expert Dr. Devin Brown in a delightful journey through the wardrobe to the magical land of fauns, talking animals, and the great lion Aslan.  You will deepen your faith, make new friends, and become a true Narnia expert!

Students should read these four books in advance and bring their own copies with them:

  • The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe    
  • Prince Caspian
  • The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
  • The Silver Chair

We will also take a close look at the Narnia films and C. S. Lewis: The Most Reluctant Convert. Each student will receive a signed copy of Bringing Narnia Home by Asbury University’s Devon Brown, PhD.

Devin Brown, PhD is a Lilly Scholar and Professor of English at Asbury University where, in addition to other literature classes, he teaches a course on Lewis and Tolkien.  He also teaches in the Asbury University Honors Program.  He has a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree from the University of Florida.

He is an award-winning author and a frequent speaker at conferences and college campuses.  He was born and grew up on Chicago’s south side and is a recipient of The Frances White Ewbank Award, Asbury’s highest honor for teaching.

Camp Tuition

Total Cost: $550

  • This sum includes a $100 non-refundable deposit at time of registration. You will receive an email after you register with a link to pay the remaining $450 balance. Upon payment, a receipt will be emailed to the student email address that we have listed on the registration form.
  • If you register now, payment in full is due no later than June 1, 2026. If you register after June 1, payment is due within one week of registration (or at time of check-in if registering less than one week before camp begins).
