Parents Information

We are excited to have you and your student as a part of the Asbury community! We know the transition to college is a significant one for the whole family, and we want to help make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Whether your son or daughter just graduated from high school or is transferring from another institution, we look forward to your student beginning a new chapter at Asbury University.

Family and Friends Orientation, August 14 and 15, 2018Parents of an Asbury student

An optional but informative orientation program which includes relevant programming and helpful information is available for parents and other family or friend support persons of first-time students and transfers who have 29 or fewer Asbury-approved credit hours. Once you arrive on campus Tuesday and register your student for Welcome Week, you will have time to help them move in and get settled in the residence hall. That evening we kick off the programming with the President's Convocation, followed by a Faculty Reception for you to meet some of your student's professors.

The following day was crafted with you in mind--we want to provide an opportunity for you to meet staff from a wide variety of offices ranging from Finanical Aid and the Registrar's Office to Student Development and Business Affairs. Your time on campus will conclude with a special closing service for students and their families, which you will not want to miss!  You will be able to depart campus by 5 p.m. Wednesday, while Welcome Week activities continue for your student. The 2018 schedule will be posted later this spring.

Does your student have middle-school or high-school age siblings?  College Connection is a free program sponsored by the Admissions Office for middle-school and high-school age siblings during designated sessions of Family and Friends Orientation. Additional information and registration will be availiable later this spring.

We look forward to having you here and are privileged to be a part of your student's life!
