We are excited to have you and your student as a part of the Asbury community! We know the transition to college is a significant one for the whole family, and we want to help make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Whether your son or daughter just graduated from high school or is transferring from another institution, we look forward to your student beginning a new chapter at Asbury University.
Parent Orientation - Aug. 9-10, 2016
We have created an orientation program for parents of first-time students and transfers with 29 or fewer credit hours, which includes relevant programming and helpful information for you. Once you arrive on campus Tuesday and register your student for Welcome Week, you will have time to help your son or daughter move in and get settled in the residence hall. That evening we kick off the programming with a Faculty Reception for you to meet some of your student's professors, followed by the President's Convocation.
The following day was crafted with you in mind--we want to provide an opportunity for you to meet staff from a wide variety of offices ranging from Finanical Aid and the Registrar's Office to Student Development and Business Affairs. Your time on campus will conclude by 5 p.m. Wednesday, while Welcome Week activities continue for your student. Look for a tentative Parent Orientation schedule to be posted soon.
Does your student have middle-school or high-school age siblings? Check back soon for information on College Connection, a free program for middle-school and high-school age siblings offered during designated sessions of Parent Orientation.
We look forward to having you here and are privileged to be a part of your son or daughter's life. God bless!
