Internship/Practicum Program Application Process

Interested graduate students must submit the following materials by the application deadline :

  • letter of interest
  • statement affirming completion of required courses
  • copy of graduate school transcript (There is no need to pay for an official transcript – a copy from course planning documents or grade records is acceptable.)
  • résumé
  • names, phone numbers, and emails of two persons qualified to evaluate the student’s introductory clinical skills

If you have not completed all the required courses, we encourage you to submit your application and plan to take the courses concurrently. 

Submit all application materials to: counseling@asbury.edu 

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an interview with the staff of the Center for Counseling. Up to six students will be invited to complete the practicum/internship program each year. View information on these important dates.

Candidates with previous counseling experience and those planning for careers in college counseling and higher education will be given priority.

Candidates must be willing to support the ethos of Asbury University, a private Christian liberal arts four-year institution. Candidates must allow a check of personal background through law enforcement agencies.
