Asbury Student Congress

Executive Cabinet

The Executive Cabinet (EC) is accountable to Asbury Student Congress and the Office of Student Development. The Executive Cabinet Advisors are accountable to the Vice President of Student Development and are responsible for the oversight granted by this Constitution and the Asbury Student Congress Guidebook. The EC serves as advocates of the Student Body to the faculty, administration, and board of trustees and fulfills the responsibilities in its Constitution and the Asbury Student Congress Guidebook.

How You can Serve with ASC

Spiritual Life Board (SLB) is concerned with educating the student body on how to apply a Christ-centered worldview amidst their cultural experiences locally, nationally and internationally. The board is composed of student representatives from all classes and other campus organizations. SLB seeks to increase spiritual vitality on campus.

SLB holds representation on the board for the student mission fund (SMF) to distribute funds for students to grow their faith cross-culturally.

SLB coordinates with other branches of ASC and the Office of Spiritual Life to plan events centered around spiritual growth and development to equip our students to take their faith into the world. This includes:

Worship Him at Midnight (WHAM)
The Worship Him at Midnight (WHAM) Committee is led by a student(s) and is composed of other students that have a passion for incorporating different worship methods into a collaborative worship night each month. The committee meets weekly to plan the worship nights that happen Friday nights at 10:30.

Student Chapel
The Student Chapel Committee is led by a chair(s) and composed of students who have an insight into campus about who would be good to share in front of the student body in a monthly student chapel. The committee is also responsible for new and creative ways to incorporate students into chapel in non-traditional ways.

Prayer Team
The Prayer Team serves to create a spirit of prayer across campus. They are called on to volunteer to pray for and with students at events like WHAM, Fall Revival, Holiness Emphasis Week, etc. The team helps distribute prayer resources across campus, and plan and lead one 24/5 prayer week each semester.

Discipleship Committee
The Discipleship Committee plans topics for future discipleship talks, set up Stuce nights, and prays over the speaker for each discipleship talk.

Equity and Worship Committee
Equity and Worship’s purpose is to show campus that there are multiple ways in which to worship.

Student Intercultural Program (SIP) — supports the mission of Asbury University to engage cultures and advance the cause of Christ around the world. SIP works to create initiatives and opportunities for intercultural engagement where students learn about national and global issues.

Advocacy and Comprehension Programming
Advocacy and Comprehension’s goal is to bring education through different mediums to campus about different cultural issues that happen in the United States and around the world.

Cultural Celebrations Committee
Cultural Celebrations Committee aims to bring the party and festivities of different cultures to campus.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is dedicated to voicing student perspectives and improving life on campus. SGA works closely with university leadership to address student concerns, propose solutions, and foster meaningful communication between students and administration.

SGA oversees several key committees that focus on specific aspects of campus life:

Parking and Safety Committee – Collaborates with Campus Safety and Facilities to improve parking policies, campus lighting, and overall student security.

Food and Dining Committee – Partners with dining services to review meal options, gather student feedback, and help shape a dining experience that meets the community’s needs.

Academic and Institutional Matters Committee – Works with faculty and administration to discuss academic policies, curriculum concerns, and to help fund departmental initiatives which departments are unable to fund themselves.

Through these committees and its broader advocacy efforts, SGA ensures that student voices are heard and represented in decisions that shape the Asbury community. SGA also has senators which represent other aspects of student life like accessibility or athletics. Specific senators roles may change from year to year based on campus needs.

Clubs are the perfect way to get involved on campus. Asbury has many student-led clubs and organizations, and Asbury Student Congress can also help you start a new one!
