Imagining what college will be like as a first-generation student – while very exciting — can also feel overwhelming. If neither your parents or guardians completed a four year degree, you are considered a first-generation student at Asbury! We strive to empower you with tools, resources and support that will help you thrive on your college journey no matter what kinds of challenges you face. You can find a sense of belonging here and become a master in your field of interest.
The First-Generation Connection is a unique program for first-generation college students at Asbury University. We recognize that first-generation students sometimes face a greater adjustment to college, but walking with others who are going through similar experiences can be vital to success.
First-Generation Connection is committed to fostering this community, providing opportunities for first-generation students to connect socially and academically throughout their Asbury journey. If you have any questions about the First-Generation Connection program or are a first-generation student, we would love to connect with you! You can do so by contacting the First-Generation Student Coordinator, Aiden Gaither.
