Welcome to Glide-Crawford!

GC (as we affectionately call her) has a long history of being a place where women have experienced authentic, life-changing Christian community. It has certainly been an important place in my life. My grandmother and grandfather “courted” in the parlor in the 1940s, my mom pulled lots of all-nighters on the hall in the 1970s and I discovered some great friends here when I arrived in 2006.

My prayer is that Glide-Crawford will be both a safe environment that affirms students and a place of transformation that challenges students to become servant-leaders in the Kingdom. I believe that the experience of living in the dorm can radically change our outlook from being self-promoting to others-promoting. Each day in the dorm you are called to practice being “others-centered” in little ways. This can look like prioritizing hall dinner in your schedule, attending a hallmate’s soccer game, keeping your stuff clean because your roommate likes a clean room, or studying with a friend because she is struggling in class. My prayer is that living in community in Glide-Crawford will draw us each into a faith that engages our heart, our heads and our hands.

Each hall in Glide-Crawford has a Resident Assistant (RA) and Spiritual Life Assistant (SLA) who are deeply committed to their hall. Glide-Crawford is home to many students; it is full of traditions, fun, and spiritual growth.
