Asbury Athletics features 16 NCAA Division III intercollegiate teams, as well as cheerleading and club sports. AU competes as a member of the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) and also is a member of the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA).

In the 2024-25 school year, Asbury Athletics earned five conference championships (CCS), two NCCAA region championships, 54 NCCAA Scholar-Athletes, four NCCAA All-Americans, the first-ever NCAA National Championship Qualifier, two NCCAA Individual National Champions, eight Conference Player of the Year awards (CCS), AVCA Region 6 Freshman of the Year, 43 All-Conference student-athletes (CCS), and four conference coach of the year awards (CCS).
Of the Asbury student body is a part of an intercollegiate sports team.
Asbury Athletics has earned an overall department GPA of 3.36 or higher for the previous six semesters (3.41 in spring 2025 semester).

Asbury club sports offer a competitive environment, including tournament play against other universities in the region. Club sports give everyone a chance to form friendships and pursue athletic excellence.
Asbury has been recognized as an NCCAA #KingChasing of the Year Institution and has built its program on these Pillars of Excellence: Mission, Team, Character, Scholar, Effort, Champion.
The Asbury Gray Outdoor Venue, dedicated on June 21, 2025, features an eight-lane track, turf field, video board, locker rooms, public restrooms, grandstand spectator seating, and an event space/meeting suite designed to host university and public events.
