Dr. Don Simmons - Faculty Advisor
When he was a young boy, his imagination was stirred by listening to late night radio rock jocks. His mother thought he was asleep! With his ear close to his hand-held transistor radio, he could hear the sounds of Top 40 radio personalities including Wolfman Jack,Larry Lujack, Cayote Calhoun, and others. He dreamed of being just like them. Well, his start in radio wasn’t in Top 40, but he was enthused about being on-air. he loves radio, and is excited about WACW!
Alisha Bynum- Station Magement Administrator
Alisha Bynum is the Station Management Administrator for WACW and a senior at Asbury. She is a Media Communication major with a double emphasis in production and management. Alisha was born and raised in the small town of Salvisa, Ky. She is now married and resides in Wilmore with Joshua, her Texas husband. Alisha has been on staff since she was a freshman and loves being involved in many things here at Asbury. Her hobbies include planning events, photography, and being with her family. Her favorite candy bar is a Kit-Kat and she currently is listening Maroon 5's new CD on repeat. Alisha enjoys helping friends on projects and being a part of a hard working team.
Gwendolyn Cipcowski - Music Director
Gwendolyn Cipkowski is the Music Director for WACW and a junior here at Asbury. She is from Louisville Kentucky and is a media communications major with a minor in theatre and a love for radio and audio production. She loves to play piano and sing and just all music in general! She loves all candy except anything that's chocolate because of an allergy to caffeine. She loves making new friends and hanging out doing anything with people!
Rachel Halm - Sales Director
Rachel Halm is the Director of Sales for WACW. She is a junior and double majoring in Business Management and Equine Management. Her favorite candy is sour gummie worms, and she enjoys playing music, reading books, and being around horses in her spare time. Her favorite songs are the ones by NeedtoBreathe.
Jessica Beaulieu- Web Master
Jessica Beaulieu is the Web Master for WACW and a sophomore at Asbury. She is from Maryville, Tennessee, and majoring in Media Communications with a triple emphasis in film, production, and performance. She has been on Asbury's tumbling team since her freshman year, and enjoys using this ministry to share the gospel through acrobatics, gymnastics, and stunting. Jessica also enjoys singing and dancing in any spare time she has. Her favorite candy is reese's, and she enjoys most music other than rap and bluegrass. Right now, her favorite song is The Call by Regina Spektor.
Josh Jones - News Director/Co-Promotional Director
Josh Jones is the News Director and co-promotional director for WACW. He is currently majoring in awesome and minoring in fun. Jones often ponders life's great mysteries and enjoys playing the air-accordion in his air-band, The Lawn Mower Battalion. Ben Folds Five has been a pretty big influence in TLMB's music. Jones isn't a huge candy lover, but get him any flavor smoothie and he will do whatever you want.
Marcus Rixon - Remotes Director/Co-Promotional Director
Marcus Rixon is the Remotes Director and Co- Promotions Director at WACW. He is currently a junior studying Media Communication with an emphasis in Audio Production. Marcus is an international student from the city of Kolkata, India. While in Dr. Walker’s radio production class, he experienced what it was like to be a Radio DJ both on and off air. He now has been a part of our staff and crew since his sophomore year. He enjoys music, sports, and being on stage performing. In his spare time, he likes to drive to Starbucks for coffee and BWW’s for chicken wings.
Daniel Gibbons - Sports Director
Daniel Gibbons is the Sports Director at WACW and is a Junior majoring in Media Communications major at Asbury. He plays on the golf team and has a passion for all sports, especially the eight-time national champs: Kentucky Wildcats. He has been a part of the staff since his freshman year, and is looking forward to expanding the station.
