Where in the World is Asbury University?

The Alumni Office is often asked where in the world do AU alumni live? The answer is "everywhere"! 
And if you count our travels then we're more than everywhere.

What follows are photographs sent to us by alumni.  We'd love to have your photos to post here as well.  So if
you have one you would like to share with us, please send it to alumni@asbury.edu along with a brief description
of where the photo is taken (even if it's obvious) and who the Asburians are in the photo.

Eleanor Porter '62 Pershing and Jerry Jo Voris '65 Burkman served at Africa University in October/November 2011. They also met with Dr. John Wesley '65 Kurewa, first vice chancellor of Africa University.  Eleanor and Jerry Jo were part of the first delegation to Africa University,Zimbabwe, from the new Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church.  There were 14 Hoosiers in the delegation.

Just another day at work for D. T. Slouffman '97 shown here (center) at the Detroit Tigers Stadium with his crew.  D.T. was producing daily reports for TBS's Inside Major League Baseball as well as web content for SI.com during the American League Championship Series between the Tigers and the Rangers.  October 2011.

A great group of Alumni and Friends of Asbury University gathered in Colorado Springs on October 1, 2011.

Russell Williams '66 former Alumni Director and Advancement Officer welcomed Dr. Gray to his new hometown of Colorado Springs, CO.

Alumni from the 1970's and 1980's gathered at the memorial service for Lt. Colonel C.A. Olsen who passed away in Maryland on July 11, 2011.  Colonel taught French at Asbury University, was class advisor to the Pioneer Class of 1976 and mentor to many. 

Asbury alumni Julie Hollifield '93 Carpenter, Jennifer Watson '01, and Margaret Ann Watson '66 Lewis, with Davis Otieno in Nairobi, Kenya.  Jennifer and Julie just completed a short-term trip to Village Project Africa in Makutano, Kenya, an organization of which Davis is the Director and Margaret is the President.

Joey Nunez '10, Darcey Bever '10 and Bethany Ury '10 met up for a night in Bangkok, Thailand to catch up with each other.

Chip '05 and Mallary Nisbett '05 Wiley currently live in China, but took a vacation to the island of Lombok in Indonesia.

You don't have to leave Georgia to meet up with fellow Asbury alumni.  Jama Bell '66 Martin, Carol Sue Ray '67, Amanda Russell '63 Hutcherson, Bobby Ray Martin '59 and Ken Hutcherson '63 enjoy a meal together.

Summer 2010- several Asbury University Alumni were involved in the Camp China/Engage summer program through ELIC (English Language Institute/China). 

Matt Deroo '00 lives in Beijing and is the Camp China director.  Sarah Peck and Becky Russell '00 came as team leaders.  Alumni pictures served on
different teams in Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam to teach English and build meaningful relationships students.  This picture is during our week of training on Cheung Chau Island in Hong Kong.

Tim Peverill '85 and Anne Sabitino '03 Hardy met in the small country of Oman at the school where Tim teaches.  Anne's husband was in language school. 

It seems alumni are always traveling on mission trips.  These counseling alumni from Wilmore found themselve in India to speak at conferences and in churches.
