Reunion 2026: Unwavering Speakers

Headshot of Reunion 2026 speaker Dr. Victor Hamilton .

Dr. Victor Hamilton Professor Emeritus is a beloved member of the Asbury University family, having served 36 unwavering years as Professor of Old Testament before continuing as Scholar-in-Residence.

A distinguished biblical scholar and cherished mentor, Dr. Hamilton has shaped generations through his teaching on the Pentateuch, Old Testament theology, and preaching, as well as through his influential commentaries and contributions to major Bible translations including the NKJV and NLT. His ministry has reached across continents and, closer to home, through more than a hundred sermons in Hughes Auditorium over four decades.

Dr. Hamilton and his late wife, Shirley—his partner in life and ministry for 60 years—raised four children and were blessed with thirteen grandchildren. As we gather around the theme Unwavering, we give thanks for Dr. Hamilton’s steadfast faithfulness, his enduring love for Asbury, and the rich legacy he and Shirley have shared with this community. We are honored to welcome him back to the pulpit this morning.

Since February of 2016, Ryan Bash has served as the Lead Pastor of Brookside Church in Chillicothe, Ohio. He lives there with his wife, Crissy, with whom he has been blessed with three children: Cameron (22), Cailynn (19) and Cooper (12).

Ryan previously pastored Trinity Chapel in central Ohio, while also volunteering as a firefighter with Union Township Fire Department.  Before becoming a Lead Pastor, Ryan served as Pastor of Student Ministries at Faith Memorial Church (Lancaster, OH) from 2002-2007. A 2001 graduate of Asbury University, Ryan received his Master of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary in 2013, and has been ordained with the CCCU since 2006.  During the summer of 2013, he authored the book Follow Me: Daring to Live the Life of Full Abandon, which was made available through Teleios Press.

His deep desire is to see God’s people say “yes,” wherever the call, whatever the cost.
