Dr. Doug Walker
Dr. Walker is the Associate Dean of the School of Communication Arts here at Asbury. He is also the professor of Media Communication and Journalism. He has an M.A. from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. He has received multiple awards for different radio pieces and video production pieces including the Communicator Award (2011) and two Telly Awards (2013 and 2014). He has also published several papers and appears in the Nieman Reports published by the Neiman Foundation at Harvard University. His broadcasting experience has taken him to places such as Haiti and Alaska. He has worked as a sports and news announcer, news director, program director, and consultant for multiple radio stations. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys playing tennis and taking walks with his wife, Marilyn.
Station Manager & Program Director
Chase is a Senior, part of the Merciful class. He is studying Media Communication with an emphasis in Audio Production. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, and playing SpikeBall. Chase said that he enjoys his role as station manager and program director because he enjoys getting to point the station in the right direction where it can reach our target audience and continue to grow in access, delivery, and content. He likes to see the positive feedback after he’s made a change.
Matthew is part of the Visionary class, a junior. He is majoring in Media Communication with minors in Journalism and Business. In his free time, he enjoys watching basketball and football, playing golf and SpikeBall, and binging Netflix shows. He has always been passionate about reporting and spreading information to the public, so making news briefs and newscasts is perfect with what he wants to do.
Logan Swartzentruber is a junior, a member of the Visionary class. His major is Media Communication with an emphasis in film, though he enjoys audio as well. He is also the RA of N3RD in Trustees and enjoys the many traditions of the hall. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with the guys on his hall and watching TV shows / movies with his friends. Logan enjoys being production manager, because it allows him to get experience in audio while he’s pursuing a film degree. He is very passionate about finding good Christian music, and he is the Christian Music Supervisor for the station. Send any suggestions you may have his way!
Steve is a member of the Visionary class, a junior here at Asbury. He is a Communications major. He is also a member of the Asbury men’s swim team.
Summar is a member of the Visionary class, a junior. She is an Elementary Education major. She is also on the Asbury Tumbling Team and a member of the The Salvation Army. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and painting. Summar lives in New York but is a South African-Canadian. She loves music and feels like it unites people, one of her favorite things to do is create a playlist for someone else by finding their music interest commonalities, so they can jam out together! Feel free to send song suggestions to her!
Webmaster / Social Media Manager / Promotions Director
Chantal is a senior, a member of the Merciful class. She is studying French and Art & Design. She is Vice President of two different groups on campus: The Pi Delta Phi French Honors Society and the Asbury College Democrats. She enjoys exploring photography and creating online content for her personal social media pages and blog. In her role, as social media director, she appreciates the creative side of things like taking photos and coming up with new ways to increase the radio station’s exposure to students!
Juan is a sophomore, part of the Appointed class. He is majoring in Political Science. In his free time, he enjoys doing parkour and playing soccer. As Remotes Director, he gets to DJ and through this, he is able to help people have a great time and enjoy the music at different Asbury events.
