China Study Abroad Withdrawal & Refund Policies
Students who are accepted into the program and confirm their participation with the non-refundable deposit, but decide that it is necessary to withdraw from the Semester in China program must promptly do so in writing by emailing or sending a letter to the program director. Below is a schedule of penalties that apply, depending upon when the cancellation occurs:
- After June 1st, the $800 housing deposit is non-refundable
- After June 20th, 15% of housing fee
- After July 10th, 25% of housing fee
- After August 1st, 50% of housing fee
- After August 15th, 100% of housing fee
In addition, if (Asbury & non-Asbury) students withdraw prior to Asbury University’s official Add/Drop date (August 24, 2018), they are responsible for paying all unrecoverable expenses not covered by the deposit ($800), but will be refunded all tuition charges. If students have already arrived in China for the program, they will have to be responsible any additional cost incurred for changing their return flight.
Non-Asbury students’ $500 processing fee is non-refundable.
After the Drop/Add period (August 24, 2019) any reductions to tuition charges will be determined by Student Accounts. Please refer to the Withdrawal Policy on page 203 of the Asbury University Bulletin.
Asbury students that decide to withdraw from the China Study Abroad program but enroll in classes on Asbury’s campus in the Fall will still be responsible for paying all unrecoverable China expenses not covered by the deposit ($800).
