Master the craft of bringing stories to life through the film/TV production process, from first idea through pre-production, production, editing, and final cut.
Hone the skills needed to write mesmerizing stories, craft believable characters that will engage audiences, and succeed in the film/TV industry as a screenwriter.
As a student in Asbury University’s graduate communication program, you’ll be able to learn from our highly experienced, award-winning faculty—including experts in screenwriting, cinematography, producing, directing, production design, and social media. Our faculty members have extensive professional experience on productions ranging from VeggieTales to Ghostbusters. You’ll learn how to use the latest technology, but more importantly, you’ll master the principles of storytelling that turn good productions into great ones.
You’ll also have access to unique opportunities that will help you network and build a phenomenal portfolio. Every summer, you’ll have the chance to work on an original narrative film or television production, produced by Asbury’s media communication department with the involvement of industry professionals. Through media apprenticeships, you’ll be able to gain experience by working under the direct mentorship of a professional. And if you choose one of the MFA programs, you’ll spend two weeks in Los Angeles meeting industry experts and exploring all aspects of filmmaking, from lighting to acting.
