The Registrar’s Office is available to provide academic records, enrollment verification, academic progress reports and course schedule services to the Asbury community, helping to keep students on track through the completion of their degree, and continuing to walk alongside them as they require transcripts and other information for scholarships, job applications or graduate programs.

The Registrar’s Office is located in the Hager Administration Building. Enter through the double doors in front and turn right. Our weekday hours are 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and 1 – 4 p.m.
A: We’re excited for you to join us at Asbury! Before classes begin for the upcoming semester, please complete the below steps:

A: If you’d like to change your major, please contact your Admissions counselor. We’ll also help adjust your schedule to align with the recommended first-semester courses for your new major once this change is processed.
A: We’re glad you’re interested in adding a major or minor to your Asbury degree! However, incoming students aren’t able to add additional areas of study in their first semester. Feel free to contact our office at the beginning of your second semester to make these changes.
A: Asbury typically accepts credit from accredited colleges and universities. A student must earn a C or better to earn transfer credit; courses that are graded as credit/no credit (or pass/fail) will not transfer. The complete transfer credit policy is in our Academic Catalog.
Your Admissions counselor will work with you to determine your preliminary transfer evaluation.
In order to add any transfer credit to your academic record, Asbury must first have a final & official transcript on file.
A: You can see Asbury’s existing course equivalencies alongside the courses of many colleges and universities.
To request evaluation for courses which have not yet been reviewed, feel free to submit your academic information into Transferology, then click “Request Information” on Asbury’s profile. See our instruction page for more information.

A: To earn college credit for your dual credit courses, you must request that the college or university that granted the credit send your official transcript directly to Asbury. A high school transcript alone will not allow us to evaluate courses for college credit. If you’re unsure which college or university transcripted your dual credit class, feel free to contact your high school counselor for more information.
A: To be considered official and final, a transcript with all final grades must be sent directly from the college or university to Asbury University. Typically, you can visit the website of the college or university and search “transcript” to find instructions on how to request an official transcript.
A: Asbury University grants exam credit in AP, CLEP, IB, and AICE only for current courses listed in the Asbury University course catalog. Please visit the Asbury Advanced Placement Credit webpage for information on approved tests and required scores to receive transfer credit.
As part of the admission process, students should arrange to have original documents for AP, IB, AICE, and CLEP scores and grade reports sent directly to Asbury University. To send AP scores to Asbury, visit the College Board website and request that your scores be sent to us (School Code: 1019).
A: Yes, the limit of all academic credit sources applied to a B.A. or B.S. degree is 75 credit hours. In order to graduate, students must complete a minimum of one year and 49+ credit hours at Asbury and fulfill all program requirements. No more than 50% of the courses in a major or minor may be completed elsewhere.
A: You’ve been pre-registered for the recommended first-semester courses for your major. Our office works directly with Asbury’s academic schools and departments to determine which courses each major should complete in their first semester. You’ll also likely need to register for additional course(s) to reach full-time status at a minimum of 12 credits.
A: Students access registration through the Student Portal. For additional registration instructions, see this article from Asbury’s I.T. Services. We do encourage students to remain registered in the recommended courses for their major.
A: Students must register for a minimum of 12 credits to be considered full-time. However, we recommend that students register between 12-15 credits in their first semester as they adjust to college life and the academic load. Incoming students may register for no more than 17 credits in their first semester.
A: On your Student Portal, you can access your degree progress audit (DPA) to see all of your Foundations requirements, major requirements, and any needed electives. You can also view individual program sheets here.
A: Yes, all incoming freshmen are required to take this one-credit seminar in their first semester at Asbury. Engaging Liberal Arts provides an introduction to Asbury’s distinctives and connects you with faculty and other incoming students.
Some transfer students with 30 or more transferrable post-high school credits may be eligible for a waiver. The Registrar’s Office will be in contact if you qualify.
A: All students earning a Bachelor of Arts degree are required to demonstrate proficiency at the third level of a language other than English. At Asbury, this is level 201. The languages offered at Asbury include Chinese, French, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and Spanish.
If you have completed high school language courses previously or have extensive experience speaking and writing a language, you will take the language placement exam at an Eagle Day or Welcome Weekend. Once your exam results are processed, you’ll be able to register for the correct course level on the Student Portal.
If English is your second language or you have experience in a language that is not offered at Asbury, please contact your Admissions Counselor, who will direct you to the Ancient and Modern Languages Department. Experience in American Sign Language does not fulfill the degree language requirement.
Asbury also accepts approved college credit or AP exam credit for specific foreign language courses equivalent to Asbury offerings.
A: Don’t panic! Seats will continue to become available as students change their schedule before the start of the term, so keep checking the Student Portal for available seats. You’ll be able to make any changes to your schedule up until the first Friday of the term (Add/Drop deadline).
