Asbury Essentials: Where to Go When You Need Help

From class schedules and tuition questions to tutoring, health services and career preparation, these campus resources can help students navigate life at Asbury.

New to Asbury? Keep this guide handy to know where to go, who to contact and how to find help throughout your first year.

Starting college comes with plenty of questions. Where do you go if you need help with your class schedule? Who can answer a question about your bill? Where can you find a tutor, pick up a package or talk with someone about an internship?

Asbury University offers resources across campus to help students navigate those questions and make the most of their college experience. Whether you need academic, financial, personal or professional support, you do not have to figure it out alone.

Here are some Asbury essentials every new student should know:

• Registrar’s Office
  What they do: Need help with registration, your class schedule, academic records, enrollment verification or transcripts? Start with the Registrar’s Office.
  Location: Hager Administration Building
• Student Accounts
  What they do: Contact Student Accounts with questions about your tuition bill, student account, payment arrangements, Financial Registration and electronic billing.
  Location: Hager Administration Building; in-person cash or check payments are handled at the Cashier on the second floor.

• Financial Aid
  What they do: Have questions about scholarships, grants, loans or your financial aid offer? The Financial Aid team can help you understand your options and next steps.
  Location: Hager Administration Building

• Center for Academic Excellence (CAE)
  What they do: The CAE helps students become confident, independent learners through writing consulting, peer course tutoring and academic coaching. These services are available to all Asbury students as part of their enrollment.
  Location: Kinlaw Library, Room 139
• Kinlaw Library
  What they do: More than a place to study, Kinlaw Library connects students with books, academic journals, research assistance, online resources, study rooms and collaborative spaces.
  Location: Kinlaw Library

• Campus Store & Post Office
  What they do: The Campus Store carries Asbury apparel, gifts and school supplies, while the Campus Post Office handles student mail, packages and outgoing shipping. Textbooks are purchased through Asbury’s Virtual Bookstore rather than the Eagle Outlet.
  Location: Ground floor, Rader Student Center

• Center for Wholeness and Wellness
  What they do: The Center for Wholeness and Wellness houses Health Services and the Center for Counseling, providing students with resources that support their physical, emotional and personal well-being.
  Location: Health Services is located in the one-story brick building behind the dining hall and beside Aldersgate Commons, at the corner of West College Avenue and Hughes Street.

• Catalyst Center for Applied Learning
  What they do: Ready to think beyond the classroom? The Catalyst Center connects students with internships, Career & Calling, study abroad, cross-cultural experiences, service opportunities, mentoring and other forms of applied learning.
  Location: Main floor, Kinlaw Library

Your Residence Hall Is a Resource, Too

For residential students, help may be even closer than an office across campus. Asbury’s Resident Directors help lead residence hall communities and can serve as an important resource as students adjust to campus life.
