The Dayton School of Business (DSB) continues to expand its vision for meaningful mentorship by connecting students and professionals in ways that transform both career development and spiritual growth. Building on the foundation of the Mentorship Program featured in early 2023, the DSB Mentorship Program is a dynamic community where students are equipped to live out their faith in the marketplace.
This year, the program enters an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Gabe Allen, a current Business Administration major and Youth Ministry minor, who now serves as the Project Manager for the initiative. Allen’s passion for empowering students and connecting business with purpose continues to fuel the program’s mission.
“The DSB Mentorship Program is more than a network—it’s a movement of people who want to live out their calling in every part of life,” said Allen. “We’re seeing real growth in students’ confidence, their clarity of purpose, and their ability to lead with both excellence and humility.”
Through one-on-one mentorship, students are paired with experienced professionals who offer guidance, wisdom, and encouragement. Together, they explore what it means to integrate faith and work, navigate transitions, and lead with integrity.
The program’s recent updates include refined mentor-mentee matching, a more structured communication plan, and new opportunities for alumni involvement. As the program continues to grow, DSB remains committed to developing leaders who bring Christ-centered impact to every sphere of business.
“The Mentorship Program connects students with mid-career individuals – ideally in their chosen career path – who can guide them into becoming future business people who live out their faith in Christ in the marketplace,” Dr. Alesha Graves, Dean of the DSB, said. “It is our goal that every DSB student has the opportunity to connect with a mentor with the goal of positively influencing the trajectory and impact of students entering the workforce.”
“I’m honored to serve another academic year as Director of the DSB Mentorship Program,” said Associate Professor of Marketing Dr. Michael Ross. “We firmly believe that offering quality mentorship opportunities for DSB students creates for our graduates a distinct competitive advantage in the marketplace, by connecting them with Christ-centered role models who embody the mission of the DSB: to be the best business school for the world.”
