Sociology is the study of human and social relations in all kinds of populations. Sociologists study the changing and stable patterns of social interaction, values and attitudes as reflected in race relations, crime, urbanization, migration, and in institutions such as religion, science and the family.

The mission of Asbury University's Sociology program involves equipping students to effectively engage and work within various global socio-cultural systems, organizations, and institutions that involve understanding the diversity of human social contexts and interactions, as well as preparing students for graduate study in the discipline.
