Community Partnerships with Asbury Outreach Coalition - for more information, contact Kaylyn Moran

Eastern State Mental Hospital: Weekly visits to build relationships with clients who are seeking treatment for various mental health related issues. Examples of service include:

  • One on one visitation with clients
  • Facilitating group games (bingo is a favorite)
  • Baking and delivering baked goods to the facility

Thompson Hood Veteran’s Center: Weekly visits to build relationships with United States war veterans and their families. Examples of service include:

  • One on one visitation with a veteran
  • Facilitating individual and group games
  • Group visitation

Bluegrass Youth for Christ: Building relationships students from Winburn Middle School and helping them grow in their lives and their understanding of Christ. Examples of service include:

  • Providing tutoring and/or homework help
  • Leading after school program at local middle school
  • Participating in leadership training with BGYFC staff

Wilmore Elem. Lunch Buddies Program: Be a caring and consistent adult in the life of an elementary school student by joining them for lunch one day a week. 

  • Participate in constructive conversations with a child by listening well and asking good questions
  • Commitment is only 30 minutes one day a week 
  • Time and day of the week varies for each mentor depending on the student's lunch schedule 

Church Under the Bridge: Sharing the hope and love of Christ with the homeless and marginally housed in inner-city Lexington. Examples of service include:

  • Attending and participating in weekly worship service
  • Helping serve a hot meal and assisting behind the scenes where necessary
  • Building relationships through sharing Christ’s message of hope

Refuge for Women: Serving at a facility that provides a place of escape for sexually exploited women in Kentucky. Examples of service include:

  • Monthly visits to the shelter
  • Sharing the gospel with women while building relationships
  • Assisting the organization in serving dinner or hosting activities

Habitat for Humanity (Jessamine County): Partner with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter and help provide "simple, decent, affordable housing for those who need a hand-up in Jessamine County"

  • Help with demolition, clean-up and home construction at various Habitat houses throughout the year (times vary)
  • Each Fall and Spring participate in one Saturday committed to helping Wilmore residents with basic yard work, home repair and beutification projects
