President Gray Leads Asbury Team to Korea

Proving that post-semester adventures are not limited to students, Asbury University President Sandra Gray led a team of faculty to Korea recently to explore new friendships and possibilities for the University.

Dr. Linda Stratford, professor of Art, and Dr. David Swartz, assistant professor of History, accompanied Gray on a visit hosted by Dr. Billy Kim, chair of the Far East Broadcasting Company, to develop partnerships with universities and churches in Korea. While there, they lectured on campuses, hosted information sessions for parents and students interested in Christian higher education in the United States and spoke in churches.

“The trip was an amazing opportunity to connect with South Koreans who are passionate about Christian higher education,” Gray said. “We were hosted by Dr. Billy Kim, who is a friend of Asbury University and shares our vision of developing global partnerships.”

Kim, who also serves as pastor emeritus of the 15,000-member Suwon Central Baptist Church, has visited Asbury’s campus in Wilmore, Ky., on two occasions with the Korean Children’s Choir. Click here for a photo gallery of the performance.
