Illuminated Class Lets Their Light Shine
When Asbury graduates cross the stage, the next step is sometimes crossing the world. Here are the plans and goals for just a few of this year's graduating class:
I will be going to Bangkok, Thailand for two months with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). I’ll be working with their communications department, taking pictures and just serving. I’m excited to see what God has planned for me next. He hasn’t really showed it to me, but I know that He will.
Chelsea Allen — Missions
I’m getting married and looking for a job in the area, because my fiancé is going to grad school. I would really like to teach elementary, but I’m open to anything.
Julienne Moore — Music Education
I have a summer job on campus with Conference Services at Asbury. In August and September I’ll be in Argentina with World Gospel Mission missionaries.
Sean O’Connor — Media Communication
My wife and I will be working at a Christian camp and retreat center. We’ll have anywhere from elementary age kids to a few 90-year-olds and some families. Most of the summer will be filled with church camps for kids, but we have a little bit of everything.
Chad Williams — Youth Ministry
I will be teaching therapeutic riding lessons in Lexington and working with people with special needs. I've been through a lot of trials and changes this last semester, but I've started moving in a more positive direction, and I'm excited to see how I keep growing and changing.
Sarah Ritter — Equine and Psychology
My husband and I are both moving to Boston, where he can earn his MFA at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and where I will be looking for both Residential Director and teaching jobs at local Prep Schools. We’re excited to see how God is going to use what we have learned here educationally, personally and spiritually in our vocations.
Kristina Van Der Eems — English
I’ll be working for Asbury’s Physical Plant for the first two months, getting married June 8, and moving to California for graduate school. I’ll be getting my master’s in professional accountancy.
Isaac Archer — Business and Accounting
This summer I am assisting a previous graduate, Sarah Kuban, on editing a documentary for an organization in Nebraska called Hope Center. I am excited to see where God is going to take me and what I will be able to do for Him. It's crazy, because I am in this part of my life where I literally don't know what's going to happen three months from now. There are so many opportunities, so it will be interesting to see what comes next.
Julia Stark — Media Communication
I’ll be working here at Asbury in the Controller’s Office doing clerical and financial duties, and I’ll work in a summer camp for a month and a half, and then I’ll come back and continue working at Asbury until next May. For next year, I’m looking at grad schools in China for a Master of Business Administration.
Sonneline Wools — Business and Accounting
Starting in September, I have the opportunity to serve as a media intern at a church in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I am definitely excited about living in Ireland for a year!
Kristen Cope — Media Communication
