ImpactU Summer Camps Return in 2014

Asbury University is bringing back a series of academic camps that are becoming a much-anticipated high point of the summer for parents and students alike.

ImpactU summer camps offer high-school students an opportunity to invest a week or two in experiential academic learning in a residential environment at Asbury. Offered over two one-week sessions (June 9-13 and 15-19), students can explore a variety of content areas in the context of Christian community:

  • Adventure
  • Equine
  • Film I & II
  • Worship Arts/Audio Production
  • Creative Writing
  • Environmental Science & Biotechnology
  • Theatre/Film Acting
  • Music, Voice & Keyboard

Asbury University Equine ImpactU Camp
High-school students at last summer's ImpactU Equine camp helped train horses in Asbury's Police Mount program.

Faculty members and outstanding Asbury students staff the camps, which include all food, housing, equipment and evening activities, in addition to academic instruction.

Tere Sharp ’94 Riegel, an alumna from Georgia, sent two daughters to ImpactU camps last summer.

“Both said it was the best camp they’ve ever attended,” she said. “That’s huge when it beats out dolphin camp in the Florida Keys! They are already making a list of the camps they want to attend next year and are talking it up to their friends.”
