Business Program Offers New Scholarship
Asbury University has announced a new competitive, endowed scholarship to support students who seek to impact the world for Christ in the marketplace.
The $10,000 Business Scholars Program Scholarship is open to men and women going into the fields of Business Management and Accounting. It will be awarded to two or three students each year and can be renewed annually. For more information and an application, click here.
“The Asbury Business Scholars program is geared towards students with a passion for learning and a belief that they will create a difference in the world using business as the vehicle to advance the cause of Christ,” said Dr. Mark Gill, a business professor at Asbury and coordinator of the Business Scholars program. “We are looking for students from all backgrounds and interests. Asbury's business program is poised to do great things, and we are recruiting students that will be a catalyst for that change.”
The scholarship is one of several ways in which the business program at Asbury is growing. A curriculum is currently in development for a Master’s of Business Administration degree that will involve a close look at entrepreneurship from a Christian perspective, and at business as mission.
“The idea of integrating faith and ethics into a business education is part of Asbury’s DNA already, so it’s a natural component of our proposal for an MBA, as well,” said Dr. Steve Clements, dean of the Asbury College of Arts and Sciences and department chair of the Business, Economics and Political Science Department. “The new program is a fantastic opportunity to equip people with management skills, undergirded by a strong liberal arts perspective, that will better prepare them for a dramatically shifting work and economic environment.”
