Groundbreaking at Equine Center
WILMORE, KY—Groundbreaking for the new indoor arena for the College’s Equine Center is Friday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the equine center.
The 180 x 120-foot facility to be built over the next three months will provide a 72 x 180-foot indoor riding arena as well as 10-12 stalls, classrooms, offices, tack and feed rooms, a wash rack and storage areas. Expected completion is January 2007.
The new facility will enable students to ride and train horses year-round and provides uninterrupted class time in all weather conditions including after dark. Students will also be able to board their personal horses in the facility’s stalls. In the coming months, plans for other uses of the arena will be finalized.
Three gifts have been committed to cover more than $200,000 of the $250,000 total cost.
On Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m., the Equine Center welcomes Paul Daily with Wild Horse Ministries.
Daily founder of Wild Horse Ministries, a non-profit organization, gentles horses with words and pats until they let him bridle, saddle and ride them—all within two hours.
Daily uses his ability as an opportunity to reach people who shy away from organized religion and church. Occasionally, Daily can get the horse to completely submit by lying down. Daily uses this as an example of how people submit to God. "We have witnessed individual lives being changed because of their willingness to submit to Jesus Christ," he said.
The event is free and open to the public. Please bring a chair. For more information, visit http://www.wildhorseministries.com/.
