Asbury Graduate Admissions Hosts Lunch & Learn for +Grad Programs

February 28, 2024

The Asbury University Office of Graduate Admissions will host a +Grad Lunch & Learn on March 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Shaw Collaborative Learning Center (Luce Auditorium). A Chick-Fil-A lunch will be provided for those interested in learning more about graduate programs in Business, Communication, and Education. With the +Grad program, Asbury University students can earn a master’s degree as soon as one year after completing their bachelor’s degree. It offers a seamless transition from undergrad to grad programs.

“A master’s degree takes your career and goals to the next level and shows employers that you take initiative to learn more about your content area to develop your professional skills,” said Director of Graduate Admissions Danielle Miller ’93. “Our newest programs are the M.A. in Communication and the M.S. in Accounting.”

Madison Anderson ’23 is an M.A. in Communication student and shares about her +Grad experience so far: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the collaborative and personalized curriculum of my communication degree. Not only do I feel equipped for my future career with finishing graduate school soon after my undergraduate career. But I also feel refreshed and excited to blend both the worlds of creative writing and communication wherever my expertise leads me.”

Graduate students can customize their studies based on their interests, such as three pathways in the MBA program (Management, Nonprofit Management, and Sport Management) and Teaching pathways (in English as a Second Language, Learning & Behavior Disorders, and more). Within Communication, students can choose their M.A. in Instructional Design, Innovation & Leadership pathway (Leadership, Digital Storytelling, and Open Pathway) and their M.A. in Communication pathway (Strategic Communication or International Communication).

Anderson shares more about her passion and research area.

“Since my passion is in creative writing (poetry), my professors have worked with me throughout my assignments, classes, and my thesis topic to ensure that my degree studies are applicable to the field I’ll launch into after graduation,” Anderson said.

Asbury University offers master’s degrees in Business (MBA and M.S. in Accounting), Communication & Media (MAC in Communication; M.A. in Digital Storytelling; M.A. in Instructional Design, Innovation & Leadership; MFA in Film/TV Production; and MFA in Screenwriting), and Education (M.A. in Education, MAT, and Ed.S.).
