New this year are two online health programs, providing APS students with even more options of study.

Now offered are the Online Health Promotion and Wellness Program and the Online Public Health Program. The 2019-2020 tuition rate for both programs is $399 per credit hour. With Asbury APS programs, students can earn their Bachelor of Science degrees in just 124 total credit hours. Programming is affordable and accessible with scholarships and financial aid available. Both new majors will prepare students to enter a burgeoning job market with plenty of opportunities to impact the world for Christ.

With classes beginning in January 2019, Dean of Adult & Online Learning Dr. Josh Fee looks forward to seeing how these new majors bolster online learning offerings. The University hired Dr. Ketrell McWhorter, who has a varied and impressive background in research, to provide leadership for the programs.

“The thing that excites me about these programs is that the health industry is an industry that serves a lot of people locally, nationally and globally,” Fee said. “A lot of these people are hurting and they are particularly in need of individuals who have a heart for providing care. When I think about people who have a heart for caring for others, I think about the kinds of students we want to release out into the world. So, I think it’s a great opportunity for us to achieve our mission as a university.”

The Online Health Promotions and Wellness Program opens up plenty of career options. In this program, students are prepared to develop and oversee wellness initiatives in hospitals, schools, businesses and organizations. Students will graduate with the tools needed to teach others how to manage their health and implement important wellness habits into their lives. Through Asbury’s high-quality classes, students will learn how to drive organizational change in regards to health and wellness promotion, as well as how to develop curriculum for community health initiatives.

Equipped with this Bachelor of Science degree, graduates can work in positions such as wellness specialist, health promotion coordinator, health coach, wellness educator and prevention specialist.

The Online Public Health Program is perfect for students who want to help affect change surrounding health issues that impact both families and global communities. In this program, students learn to monitor and react to the ever-changing wellness needs of communities through education, research, practice and policy. Asbury’s Public Health program provides a great launchpad for those looking to pursue graduate-level studies or work in the growing public health field.

A Bachelor of Science in Public Health can take your career to the next level. Those who specialize in this major go on to work as community health managers, health educators, environmental health specialists, health services coordinators and public health analysts.

APS program classes are offered at an accelerated rate of eight weeks so busy, working students as well as those with families are able to complete their degrees in just four semesters. Classes are taught by professors with terminal degrees who integrate faith and liberal arts values into the curriculum, assuring that students get the highest quality Christian education on the market.
