Asbury Hosts Think Tank Events at Windsor Manor

October 19, 2018

Last weekend, Asbury University hosted its third think tank event at Windsor Manor, a guesthouse constructed with help from a generous donor through the Ignited Campaign. Saturday’s think tank focused specifically on the Dayton School of Business. Prior think tanks have been held in honor of the Science & Health Department and took place in March and September of this year.

The Business Think Tank began with a continental breakfast and self-guided walking tour of Windsor Manor. Alumni working in the business field came from across the country to brainstorm ideas and give their input on the future of Asbury’s business programs. Asbury University President Sandra C. Gray opened up the conversation.

These think tank events were created in order to harness the unique perspectives of alumni from all over the country who kindly shared their viewpoints and suggestions on how the Collaborative Learning Center can best be used to advance the business, science and mathematics programs.

“The three think tanks have already made a difference in providing insights into curriculum changes, partnership ideas and even internship connections with alums and friends who are doing great work as Christian professionals,” Vice President for Institutional Advancement & Strategic Partnerships Dr. Mark Troyer said.

The Business Think Tank evaluated the external business environment, untapped opportunities for Asbury and its students and also explored success strategies. Additionally, programmatic and revenue-generating opportunities were discussed.

Troyer is excited about the opportunities that Windsor Manor has provided in terms of hosting guests and events such as the think tanks.

“Windsor Manor has been such a gift and blessing to be able to house and host special guests,” Troyer said. “It is such a warm and inviting atmosphere to provide hospitality to small events such as the Business and Science Think Tanks, mini conferences and receptions. We thank God for the foresight of a special donor to gift this to us.”

A second Business Think Tank will be held in February 2019, though Windsor Manor will play host to a variety of events in the coming months including a breakfast with visiting ambassadors.

Windsor Manor features a great room, library, business lounge, kitchen, dining rooms, sun parlor, breakfast nook and second-floor observatory.
