This fall, a new class of Asburians will step onto campus full of anticipation, questions, and quiet courage. The Known Class of 2029; hopeful, expectant, and stepping into the unknown. For many, it will be their first time away from home, their first taste of independence, and their first opportunity to walk into the calling God is placing on their hearts.
At Asbury University, no one journeys alone. Will you remind the Known Class they’re not alone on this new journey?
This year, we invite you to help us officially welcome the Known Class of 2029 through our Welcome Freshmen initiative. Whether you’re an alum, parent, pastor, or friend of the university, your letter or gift can serve as a reminder that they are deeply loved, seen, and supported.
Here is how you can take part:

Write a short message (no more than 100 words) of encouragement to an incoming freshman. It will be printed and delivered to a new student during Welcome Weekend in August. Our prayer is to gather 360 notes, one for every member of the Class of 2029.
At Asbury, 100% of full-time traditional undergraduate students receive financial aid. Many of our students would be unable to pursue an Asbury education without your generous support.
Honor the Class of 2029 with a financial gift toward student scholarships.
As a tangible act of encouragement, and a seed planted in Kingdom soil, consider honoring the Class of 2029 with a gift to student scholarships: $20.29, $202.90, $2,029, or any amount the Lord leads you to give.
As an alum, you understand how one experience, one relationship, or even one moment can shape a life. Your note might give courage to a student on their first day away from home. Your gift might be the reason a student is able to attend Asbury.
Every year, our alumni help us welcome the incoming freshman class with their wisdom and support. This year, we continue that tradition with the Known Class of 2029.
I can't wait to begin fulfilling my calling to be a servant of God's kingdom by majoring in ministry. I am praying for His guidance as I enter into this next chapter of my life.”
My parents are missionaries. But thanks to donors, I could come to Asbury because of the scholarship provided for me. And I promise you that my education here won't be wasted. I will grow as a person that really reflects Christ in the world. Thank you so much again and may God richly bless you."
These snapshots from our three new student orientation “Eagle Days” capture the Known Class of 2029’s first steps into Asbury’s supportive, Christ-centered community. Experience the joy, connection, and sense of calling that define the beginning of their journey at Asbury.
Thank you for welcoming the Known class of 2029 to Asbury University with warmth and wisdom.
