Love Greater. The ASC Leadership Conference equips local student leaders to use their influence to share the love of Christ through people-centered, action-oriented leadership. Dr. Esau McCaulley, a New Testament scholar and award-winning author of ‘Reading While Black’ and ‘How Far to the Promised Land’, will explore the themes of humility, love, and perseverance, offering biblical wisdom and practical insight into what faithful leadership looks like for today’s young adults. October 9th: 4:30-8:00 p.m. General conference with ALL Asbury Student Leaders and invitees from other institutions October 10th: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Asbury Student Congress Members ONLY The ASC Leadership Conference will empower student leaders to use their influence to serve others and share the love of Christ through people-centered, action-oriented leadership. Participants will be challenged through thoughtful teaching and meaningful conversation to lead with humility, courage, and conviction in their schools, churches, and communities. The conference will feature Dr. Esau McCaulley, a New Testament scholar, New York Times opinion columnist and award-winning author of “Reading While Black” and “How Far to the Promised Land.” Building on Scripture, his own life, and his scholarly experience, Dr. McCaulley will talk about humility, love, perseverance, and faithful witness, giving practical wisdom for students who want to lead with Christlike character in today’s cultural climate. Day One is for local student leaders and will include a keynote address from Dr. McCaulley with a live Q&A. Attendees will enjoy an evening of learning, fellowship, and meaningful engagement, along with a catered dinner and a signed copy of one of Dr. McCaulley’s books. Day Two is a special day for members of the Asbury Student Congress (ASC) to carry on the conversation in the setting of student leadership at Asbury University. Following up on the themes introduced at the conference, ASC members will have a more focused conversation about how to apply Christ-centered leadership to the unique opportunities and responsibilities of serving the campus community.
