August 19, 2024 — Pulling from a range of distinguished academic careers, Asbury University welcomes eight new faculty members who will further propel the university forward with academic excellence to start the 2024-25 academic year.
April 1, 2024 — On June 1, the Asbury University Department of Christian Studies & Philosophy will become the School of Christian Studies.
March 27, 2024 — The Christian Studies & Philosophy Department will host “Stations of the Cross,” a FLEX Credit event on Thursday, March 28, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the Shaw Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) Luce Auditorium.
February 8, 2024 — In January, four Asbury Bible-Theology professors participated in the John Wesley Institute’s New Methodism Summit II in Alexandria, Va.
January 18, 2024 — Professor of New Testament Dr. Suzanne Nicholson participated in Revival Roundtable, a five-part video series produced by City on a Hill Productions.
October 20, 2023 — Professor of Bible and Theology Dr. Kevin Anderson recently published “Hebrews and the General Epistles,” a new book in the “Reading and Interpreting the Bible Series” (The Foundry Publishing).
October 11, 2023 — Asbury Professor of Theology Dr. Brian Shelton ’89 recently served as keynote speaker for an international symposium at the Francis Asbury Society (FAS) with panelists Dr. Suzanne Nicholson, Dr. Christopher Bounds ’88, and President of FAS Reverend Bill Kierce.
October 3, 2023 — In September, the Asbury Honors Program hosted Kaitlyn Schiess on the topic of “The Ballot and the Bible: Scripture and Public Life,” and The Joe Pitts Center for Public Policy welcomed Ph.D. Candidate Abbie Wood to present her research of “When Justices Go Public: Supreme Court Members, Public Statements, and Court Legitimacy.”
September 1, 2023 — Assistant Professor of New Testament Dr. Joy Vaughan released a new book entitled, “Phenomenal Phenomena: Biblical and Multicultural Accounts of Spirits and Exorcism.”
June 2, 2023 — For 2023 A-Award winner Rev. Dr. Chris Bounds ’88, his Asbury journey started with a church mentor who recommended the “college” to him.
