Horses & Hot Chocolate

Horses and Hot Chocolate is an opportunity for your child to gain hands on experience with horses. They will learn how to properly handle a horse and basic horse care. This may include feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, learning about tack, training on the ground, and basics in horse behavior. Sessions will be on the ground only; we will not be riding the horses.

Sessions

Sessions will be every Saturday from January 29 March 5, 2022, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Asbury Equine Center. Students should come dressed for the weather with long pants, closed-toed shoes, and be ready to be outside. You are welcome to sign up for more than one session, as space allows. Each session will be the same.

Sessions may be cancelled due to inclement weather. We will contact you if we need to cancel.

No prior experience necessary

Participants do not need to have any previous experience with horses. The purpose of this program is to introduce students to horses and give them hands on experience with horses.

Be prepared to be outside. Please dress accordingly for the weather. Long pants and closed toed shoes are required to work with the horses.

Cost per session

The cost per child is $30. Please make checks payable to Asbury University. Payment is required at the start of the session. All funds go directly to the care of the Asbury horses.
