For services designated as an Elective Chapel, students assigned to those chapel dates are not required to be in their seat. Consequently, any student—regardless of their chapel assignment—is invited to join this service in order to earn additional chapel credits. Capacity will be limited.

Spiritual Life Credits

All students are required to earn 25 Spiritual Life credits.

  • Chapel Opportunities in Hughes Auditorium (10 a.m. or 4 p.m.) = 2 credits
  • Spiritual Formation Opportunities = 1 credit
  • Gather = ½ credit
  • All credits must be completed by 5 p.m. on the last day of classes (April 23, 2021).

Incomplete credits will result in community service, and/or chapel probation, and/or suspension.

Spiritual Life Opportunities for Spring 2021

The following spiritual formation events provide rich opportunities to grow in your relationship with Jesus as you engage in community. This list provides great choices for the formation credits required this spring.

Weekly Opportunities

  • Gather: Hall Bible Study and Prayer – Mondays at 9 p.m. in residence halls; led by Spiritual Life Assistants
  • Commuter Gather: Tuesdays at 11 a.m. in World Gospel Mission Student Center
  • Pause: Silence, Reflection, and Contemplative Prayer – 10 a.m. (M/W) and 10:50 a.m. (T/R) in Morrison 206/Bennett-Bernard Chapel; sign up by emailing john.morley@asbury.edu (maximum 2 credits)
