Under the extraordinary circumstances of expediting courses to an online modality, additional liberties are available in respect to copyright for a more expansive interpretation of Fair Use and the TEACH Act. To convert face-to-face content for this semester, faculty may take photos or scan materials and temporarily upload them to Discovery. Likewise, faculty may convert multimedia to a format that can be used in Discovery for similar purposes. Discovery provides limited distribution to enrolled students only which aligns with a factor of Fair Use. The library team can seek licensing for content if needed as many vendors are eager to help make content available. Faculty with specific questions may email email@example.com.
