Library Student Workers

The Kinlaw Library will be hiring student workers for the Fall.  Depending on our budget, we will likely be hiring 4-5.

Students must be available to work Monday-Friday, anywhere from 7:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.  All student workers also work at least 1, 4-hour Saturday shift during the semester.  Most students work between 6-10 hours a week.

The majority of the library student works do basic library tasks such as:

  • Checking in and out books and other resources
  • Ringing up purchases on a cash register
  • Finding books
  • Reserving study rooms
  • Shelving books
  • Basic data gathering and entry
  • Basic cleaning of tables, whiteboards, and shelves
  • Assisting with inventory, displays, and supply restocking
  • Answering student and faculty questions

Some students have the opportunity to specialize and work in Technical Services (processing books and periodicals) or Archives (fulfilling informational requests and processing documents / art / museum pieces).

Ideal candidates are punctual and dependable; able to have conversations both in person and on the phone, and like being in the library.
