Position:

A search is in process to secure a qualified faculty candidate for a vacant position for the Fall of 2026. The appointment is for a full-time tenure track professor.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities primarily include teaching theoretical and practical journalism classes. The Journalism major is focused on creating for print, broadcasting and online media. Other courses could also be included based on qualifications. Standard teaching load is 12 hours each semester with optional summer teaching available. May include teaching for undergraduate and graduate classes in-class and possibly online.

Qualifications:

A PhD or M.F.A. in multimedia journalism is preferred. Seeking a candidate with journalism experience. A commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality is necessary, with faculty innovation and creativity highly valued. School Of Communication Arts Information:

The School of Communication Arts has roughly 300 students and includes the following undergraduate majors: Communication, Multimedia Journalism, Media Communication, Multimedia Design, and Theatre. Graduate degrees include an M.A.s in Digital Storytelling, Communication, and Instructional Design. Asbury also offers M.F.A.s in Screenwriting and Film & Television Production.
