Location: Basement Level, Hager Administration Building

# Hours: Forty Hours per week during the summer break

Summary: Assists programs within the Office of Development with data, records management related to Asbury University constituents and Development Initiatives. Serves as a member of Team Advancement during events (pre, during, and post event)

Requirements:

  • Registered Student
  • Enjoys working with text and numeric data
  • Enjoys paying attention to details, cross-referencing information
  • Strong organizational and proofreading skills
  • Comfortable manipulating data within Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or database applications. (Previous experience and/or education is preferred. Training and instruction for the work in Development is provided)
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule
  • Ability to work independently while carefully following approved procedures
  • Comfortable with shifting project priorities
  • Willingness to strictly adhere to data ethics and confidentiality rules
  • Ability to provide physical support: Standing, walking, intermittent lifting of up to 40lbs individually or as part of a team to move tables, set chairs, etc. as part of event prep
  • Ability to welcome and demonstrate hospitality to alumni and visitors on campus

Job Description:

The Development Data Assistant’s primary role is to support Development Services with database, document management, and data project support

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of electronic databases and/or hardcopy files (data input, updates and retrievals, hard-copy document retrieval, organization, scanning, and linking digital documents to databases, filing, etc.)
  • Preparing documents using mail merge procedures, document templates, tables, or spreadsheets
  • Proofreading, photocopying, shredding
  • Printing and assembling documents for distribution
  • Tracking and recording workflow; generating reports
  • Participates in creating and/or updating procedure training materials as requested
  • Internet, database, and print-based data research
  • Limited office “housekeeping” tasks shared by all students working for Development
  • Occasional mass-mailing support and/or event preparation support
  • Other duties as assigned
