Daily Responsibilities

  • Sort incoming USPS and intercampus mail daily. Mail typically arrives between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and departments begin picking up mail around 10:00 a.m.
  • Oversee the receipt and check-in of packages from all carriers.
  • Process all outgoing mail and packages, ensuring timely pickup. You may need to make occasional runs to the Wilmore Post Office and the Seminary (note: the Seminary delivers to us between May and October).
  • Forward or return mail and packages for individuals no longer on campus.
  • Assist with post office-related accounting tasks (e.g., BREs, stamp count sheet, FedEx bills monthly meter machine report).

Additional Task as Needed

  • Regularly audit mail and packages that have been stationary for an extended period and send reminders as needed.
  • Manage student and departmental mailboxes or mail tubs. Add or remove as necessary and maintain accurate labeling.
  • Keep both digital and hard copy lists of student mailboxes and employee information up to date.
  • Stay informed on the latest USPS rules and regulations, including handling price changes.
  • Oversee the meter machine and package tracking software. Provide training as needed, handle maintenance or software requests, and ensure supplies are ordered.
  • Request and manage orders for supplies needed for post office operations.
  • Respond to calls and emails directed to the CPO phone line and email address.
  • Supervise student workers and ensure they have sufficient tasks during their shifts.
  • Maintain inter-office envelopes.

Store Cross-Training Duties

  • Prepare deposit and sales reports as needed.
  • Operate the POS register when required.
  • Restock merchandise.
  • Process incoming merchandise: verify quantities against purchase orders, enter quantities and prices into Shopify, and place items on the sales floor.
  • Fulfill Custom Corner shirt orders and notify customers when their order is complete.
  • Close the store as needed.
