The Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible to the Residence Director (RD) and the Assistant Vice President for Residence Life, and other Student Development deans. The RA is expected to assist students, facilitate programming, be a source of information, maintain an atmosphere conducive to a healthy lifestyle, and enforce community standards. Creativity is welcomed and encouraged in this role as the RA considers how to build community with the group of summer students. The Summer RA role would begin May 4^th 2026,, and extend until August 10^th, 2026. The summer RAs can also anticipate helping with Commencement. For the summer season, the RA is expected to work 20 hours a week doing the following:

• Assist with Summer Housing night
• Check in and check out summer residents
• Work with RDs to accomplish end-of-year and beginning-of-year tasks
• Work with RD to plan larger fun events for summer students
• Attend weekly staff meetings and other meetings as highlighted by Summer RD
• Facilitate a weekly community building event for all summer residents
• Facilitate a weekly community building event for individual building residents
• Establish and maintain an On-Call schedule and procedures with Resident Director
  • Weekday On-Call: 5pm-8am
  • Weekend On-Call: All Day
• Be available to residents for support and care
• Assist with Asbury University Summer Camps and Reunion
  • Additional payment will be provided for these events.
  • More clarity will follow through the semester.
• Assist with Summer Conferences and Events as needed
  • Assist with Eagle Days (May 31^st, June 2^nd, June 28^th)
  • Completing Daily/Weekly tasks with Conference Services
  • Trash checks.
  • Keeping supplies stocked in apartments.
  • Assisting with linens when needed.
  • Setting up beds & furniture for the summer primarily in Aldersgate.
  • Other duties may be assigned weekly.
