Job Purpose :

The Library Evening Supervisor is vitally important to the running and management of library services during the weekly evening hours. This position oversees and ensures the smooth operations and student workers of the library in the evening. An important part of the position is supporting the ministry and mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christian faith in our students.

Essential Functions;

  • Monitor and supervise the library facility, library desk, and student
  • Oversee circulation of materials: check-in, check-out, and
  • Oversee sales and fiscal transactions at the library desk, including fines, fees, photocopies, supplies, book sales, and food and beverage
  • Work on various projects that support library services and functions, such as: manage gift books (receipt, processing, and stewardship); assist with technical services such as copy cataloging, collection maintenance/weeding, and general data entry; and assist with InterLibrary

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time position. Up to 28 hours/week for up to 34 weeks/year.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically in the Microsoft Office
  • Thorough attention to

  • Ability to work well independently and to make reliable, quick
  • Supervisory experience
  • A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the

University’s theological position, lifestyle standards, and mission.
