From June 23-27, Asbury University’s Dayton School of Business (DSB) and Summit Ministries presented SummitCamp at Asbury University, featuring speakers Alisa Childers, Scott Klusendorf, Alycia Wood, and Dan Lewis.
“SummitCamp equips our students to think carefully about today’s complex marketplace and challenges them to articulate biblical ideas in a loving manner,” said Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown. “And of course, we have some fun, all on the beautiful campus of Asbury University.”
Student-attendees learned about a variety of topics focused around “faith in the marketplace” with engaging activities throughout the week, such as lunches and open forums with faculty members and small group discussions.
Incoming Asbury students who attend SummitCamp at Asbury University can apply to receive a $4K scholarship* to Asbury University. Learn more.
“Every generation has a battle for the minds of teenagers and leaders,” said Lewis, who serves as Executive Director of The River Foundation, the giving arm of First Southern Family of Companies, and as an adjunct professor in Asbury University’s DSB. “The further that we have gotten from a Christian worldview, the more the battle has increased. Summit has placed itself in the middle of this reality to help students live out their faith in practical ways.”
Previous students who attended SummitCamp at Asbury University shared these words about their experiences: “The lectures encouraged and ignited my faith, and the relationships that I built still exist today… This is a safe space that if you feel called to share something, there will be someone in the room who will say, ‘Same here.’”
Summit Ministries desires to see generations of Christians mobilized to transform a broken world, and they exist to equip and support rising generations to embrace God’s truth and champion a biblical worldview.
Childers is the author of Another Gospel? (a book in which she describes the years-long journey she took as she wrestled with questions that struck at the core of the Christian faith and found the truth). Klusendorf is the president of the Life Training Institute and travels throughout the United States and Canada training pro-life advocates to persuasively defend their views in the public square. Wood is a speaker with over ten years of full-time apologetics ministry where she travels and speaks on various topics relevant to our culture.
The DSB offers five majors (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Sport Management), seven minors (Accounting, Business, Entrepreneurship, Equine Business Management, Marketing, Sales, and Sport Management), the Online Business Administration program, the MBA, and the M.S. in Accounting.
