Position:

A search is in process to secure a qualified faculty candidate for a vacant position for the Fall of 2025.  The appointment is for a full-time, Producer or Director-in-Residence position.

Qualifications:

An MFA in film or television directing or producing is preferred. A commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality is necessary, with faculty innovation and creativity highly valued. Institutional Commitment:

Candidates must give evidence of an evangelical Christian commitment and be in harmony with the College’s Statement of Faith and Mission, with preference toward those from a Wesleyan Theological perspective.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities primarily include teaching directing and producing classes. Other courses could include Media & Society, Film History and Faith, Media & Calling.  The position would include advising and mentoring students. The teaching load is 12 hours each semester with optional summer teaching available. May include teaching for undergraduate and graduate classes in-class and possibly online.

Compensation:

Nine-month base compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience.  Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.

School of Communication Arts Information:

The School of Communication Arts has roughly 300 students and includes the following majors: Communication, Journalism, Media Communication, Multimedia Design, and Theatre. Graduate degrees include an M.A. in Digital Storytelling and M.F.A.s in Screenwriting and Film & Television Production. There are currently thirteen full-time faculty and four part-time faculty.
