Asbury Theatre Presents the Comedy Musical Nunsense

Student-directed production brings comedy, music and plenty of mayhem to the Greathouse Theatre Oct. 2-10

The Asbury University Theatre Program presents the zany musical comedy Nunsense by Dan Goggin, running Oct. 2-10 in the Greathouse Theatre in Asbury University’s Miller Center for Communication Arts.

The musical follows five nuns who host a talent show to raise funds following a tragic accident at their convent. As the show unfolds, mishaps and mayhem lead to hilarious predicaments while offering audiences a glimpse into life in the convent.

The production came together on a particularly fast timeline. Members of the production crew volunteered for their roles during the Spring 2026 semester and met over video calls throughout the summer before hitting the ground running upon returning to campus. Auditions for the cast were held during the first week of classes, with rehearsals beginning the following week.

Asbury Theatre major Joelle Yoder ’27 directs the production as her senior project.

I am so proud of this cast and crew. Everyone has put in so much hard work, and they blow me away every day. It is not unusual for me to die laughing at rehearsals, and I know what’s coming!”

For Ivy Romines ’27, who plays Reverend Mother, the production has been a memorable way to celebrate her senior year at Asbury.

This show has been the best senior show at Asbury I could have asked for."

“The cast became quick friends, and we have only grown closer over this experience. It is truly one of the funniest shows Asbury has ever performed. Don’t miss it!”
