For Micah Krebs ’27, a senior Exercise Science major from Shelbyville, Kentucky, his time at Asbury University has been shaped by faith, athletics, leadership, and a community that encouraged him to get involved. As a member of the Asbury Men’s Soccer Team who has also served as both a Resident Assistant (RA) and Spiritual Life Assistant (SLA) in Johnson Residence Hall, Krebs has experienced Asbury community from many different perspectives.
Throughout his time at Asbury, Krebs has found opportunities to grow beyond the classroom and soccer field. From worship and residence life to campus traditions and friendships, he says the environment at Asbury has helped him make his faith his own.
We asked Micah to reflect on his Asbury experience.
“My relationship with God has grown exponentially since coming to Asbury. The environment and community have really helped me make my faith my own. All the worship events and the intentional focus on God helped me focus on God so much more in my daily life.”
For Krebs, faith has been woven into his everyday Asbury experience. Through worship opportunities and relationships across campus, he has found a community that encourages him to intentionally pursue his relationship with God.
“My favorite part of Asbury so far has been the community and all the campus events that happen. Dorm events like Johnson Christmas, putt putt at Club Trustees, and the ping pong tournament by ASC.”
Whether competing on the soccer field, serving students in Johnson Residence Hall, or participating in campus traditions, Krebs has embraced the opportunities to build relationships and make memories with those around him.
“One piece of advice I would give is to not be scared and to go all in on the campus life. Don’t feel like you’re too cool for the events. The friends and memories you will make while doing things that seem silly are what you are going to remember the most.”
Krebs’ Asbury experience reflects the impact of embracing college life both inside and outside the classroom. Through Exercise Science/Kinesiology, men’s soccer, residence life leadership, worship, and campus traditions, he has found opportunities to deepen his faith and invest in community. As he enters his senior year, the friendships and memories he has made serve as a reminder of his own advice to future students: go all in.
