Asbury University students will hear from two global business and generosity leaders about stewarding capital through a Christian worldview.
Asbury University’s Dayton School of Business will welcome global generosity leader Daryl Heald and international investor Jonson Sun to campus for Capital With Purpose: How Christians Build, Invest and Give on Monday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. in the Kinlaw Library Boardroom.
The event will invite students to explore wealth creation, investing, philanthropy and generosity through the lens of Christian faith. Rather than approaching the evening as a traditional finance lecture, the Dayton School of Business will create a practical conversation about how Christians can steward the resources God places in their hands for a greater purpose.
Heald founded Generosity Path and has spent decades working in global generosity, philanthropy and impact investing. He has served as a board director of the Maclellan Foundation and advised families on philanthropy while helping advance generosity initiatives around the world.
Sun serves as founder and president of GIC Merchant Bank Corp. An experienced investor and board director, he brings a global perspective shaped by business relationships across North America, Asia and Africa. His experience offers students an opportunity to consider how Christian convictions can influence entrepreneurship, investment decisions and leadership in an interconnected economy.
The event gives Asbury students direct access to experienced global leaders who have navigated significant business, investment and philanthropic opportunities while intentionally connecting their faith with the way they steward capital.
Dayton School of Business Dean Robin Lim said the conversation will encourage students to think beyond financial success and consider the purpose behind the resources they build and manage.
Daryl and Jonson have both spent their lives around significant capital, business and generosity, so I think the opportunity for students is to hear very practically how faith changes the way we build, invest and give."
The conversation reflects the Dayton School of Business’ commitment to preparing students to integrate faith, leadership and professional excellence. Students interested in business, finance, entrepreneurship, investing or generosity can attend and consider how their Christian worldview can shape the way they create value, lead organizations and serve others.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, in the Kinlaw Library Boardroom. Chick-fil-A will be provided.
