Asbury junior social work major, Bailey Gassmann, took first place in the NCCAA 1500M National Championship, alongside her Asbury teammates Manny Dut and the women’s 4×800 relay team collecting All-American honors.

Asbury University women’s track and field junior social work and adventure education and leadership major Bailey Gassmann ran a 1500m time of 4:49 for National Champion honors on Friday in Wilmore, Ky., at the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, while Manny Dut and the women’s 4×800 relay team collected All-American recognition.

Gassmann also made program history in the 1500 meters, becoming the first-ever Asbury outdoor track & field national champion with her victory in the event. She previously claimed the 2025  indoor national title in the mile run.

Bailey was incredible in her 1500m race, recording the second fastest time in her life. Perhaps even better was her 2:19 anchor leg in the 4×800 relay All-American performance."

Manny Dut continued his historic season with a second-place finish in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 48.49 seconds to break his own school record by one-hundredth of a second. In a cruel twist, Dut also missed the national title by one-hundredth of a second, meaning he would have needed to lower his personal best by two-hundredths to claim first place.

The 4×800-meter relay team of sophomore Adyson Mattingly, freshman Ellie Kershner, senior Brooke O’Carroll, and junior Bailey Gassmann earned All-American honors with a third-place finish. Their time of 9:57.76 shattered the previous school record by more than 15 seconds.

Asbury hosted the NCCAA National Championship event in Wilmore, Ky., at the new Asbury Gray Outdoor Venue. More than 25 NCCAA teams from around the country attended to compete at the state-of-the-art Asbury facility.
