Hannah Monsanto, a senior Sociology major in the Class of 2025, applied her academic training to strengthen Asbury’s student community. As a first-generation college student, she was especially interested in understanding the experiences and challenges faced by other first-generation students on campus. She applied this passion to her internship throughout her senior year.
Under the direction of Dr. Paul Stephens, Assistant Vice President of Institutional Research and Strategic Initiatives, Monsanto collected and analyzed data to shed light on the social and academic experiences of this student group. Her research report and recommendations will support ongoing efforts to foster a culture of care, support, and social well-being for all Asbury students.
