Why do Students Come to the Center for Counseling?
Asbury students may use the Center for Counseling for a variety of reasons. Typical problems might include depression, anxiety, family problems, stress, poor self-esteem, relationship problems, eating disorders and negative body image, sexual abuse, academic struggles, and concerns about a friend or family member. One of these may be a problem for you, or you may have something totally different to talk about.
The Center for Counseling also does pre-engagement and pre-marital counseling. At times, counselors are sought out as a resource for various classroom projects or presentations. It is the goal of the Center for Counseling to be a resource for Asbury College students, faculty and staff no matter how large or small the issue might appear.
